Global Philanthropy Project

The Global Philanthropy Project (GPP) hosts a Trans* Funding Working Group to mobilize new research and support collaborative funding efforts to increase the amount and influence the type of private and public foundation funding dedicated to global transgender issues. Strength in Numbers worked with the GPP and the donor members of the Trans* Funding Working Group to develop a trans funding cultivation strategy that included quantifiable benchmarks related to fund leveraging and donor coordination. The strategy was developed based on key informant interviews with select donors and prospecting research at the Foundation Center. The resulting document provided the Trans* Funding Working Group with nine strategies to increase the funding available to trans groups and laid out a process to prepare for implementation.
