Sex Work Donor Collaborative

Strength in Numbers worked with the Sex Work Donor Collaborative (SWDC) on a research project to assess data needs for informing and strengthening advocacy for more and better funding for sex worker’ rights globally. The project also aimed to identify strategies and funders with potential to deepen existing support or unlock new funding opportunities for sex workers. Strength in Numbers designed and conducted individual key informant interviews and group consultations with funders, allies from adjacent movements and sex work activists across the globe. In addition, we requested and analyzed data from Candid and the Foundation Center for all grants tagged with the key word “sex workers” in 2017. Based off these data, we provided recommendations to the SWDC and compiled findings into a report to guide SWDC’s outreach and member engagement efforts.
