As a Qualitative and Multi-Method Research Associate at Strength in Numbers, he works on various projects, conducting data collection, writing reports, facilitating workshops, and analyzing a wide array of data. Beksahn is committed to applying his skills to aid in social justice efforts and support marginalized communities, with a particular interest in immigration, race and ethnicity, and the LGBTQ+ community.
Before joining Strength in Numbers, Beksahn completed his Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Arizona. During this time, he studied race and ethnicity, immigration, and political sociology. This research was supported by a generous grant from the National Science Foundation, which enabled him to conduct 84 interviews with Asian Americans in Los Angeles. As a practiced interviewer and researcher, Beksahn is an introvert who loves meeting and talking with new and diverse people.
