Gabriela Da Silva recently earned her MPH in Sociomedical Sciences from Columbia University, with a certificate in Social Determinants of Health. She brings a diverse background in research, education, and communications.
As a Research Associate at Strength in Numbers, Gabriela meticulously cleans and analyzes quantitative data to ensure high-quality, accurate findings. She thrives in environments that challenge her critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Gabriela enjoys actively engaging with clients to understand their organizational needs and applying her skills to develop tailored, effective solutions.
Her previous research experience includes monitoring HIV incidence among the LGBTQ+ community, enhancing chronic disease management for Peruvians in rural areas, and identifying barriers to sexual and reproductive health services for Venezuelan migrants in Peru. Before transitioning to research, Gabriela spent two years as a High School Special Education Teacher, working closely with English language learners and students with mild-to-moderate learning disabilities. She holds an MA in Education from Loyola Marymount University and a BA from UC Berkeley.
Gabriela is deeply passionate about social justice and progressive reform. While she always seeks opportunities for growth and knowledge on various social issues, she is particularly dedicated to advancing equitable access to education and improving health outcomes for marginalized communities. Her work reflects a steadfast commitment to these causes, ensuring that her efforts contribute to meaningful and inclusive change.
