Strength in Numbers worked with the Brooklyn Museum to evaluate their LGBTQ Teen Night Program, which offers paid internships for young people to organize an event in the museum, while strengthening their communication, teamwork, time management, organizational and event planning skills. Strength in Numbers used participatory approaches to develop a theory of change for the program, using key informant interviews with program staff and alumnae. We then used structured observations of teen night preparation sessions and a survey of LGBTQ Teen Night attendees. The evaluation findings were used to communicate with donors who support the program about the impact it has on the young people participating and the museum itself.
